Agent Engineering jobs

Agent engineering is the current frontier of the application layer: systems that plan, call tools, browse, write code, and recover when step three fails. The honest version of the job is building harnesses and guardrails — context management, memory, sandboxing, human-in-the-loop gates — around models that are brilliant and unreliable in unpredictable proportions.

Tooling is Python or TypeScript with MCP and function calling, plus tracing through LangSmith or Langfuse, because debugging an agent without traces is archaeology. Evals for multi-step tasks are half the engineering. Demand is intense, and the field is young enough that a strong open-source agent project outweighs years of adjacent experience.
