Design for AI jobs

Designing for AI means designing for uncertainty: streaming responses, showing sources and confidence, and failing gracefully when the model is confidently wrong. The roles here are Product Designers and Design Engineers at AI companies, plus the UX researchers finding out what people actually do with a chat box once the novelty wears off.

Portfolios with prototypes wired to real models beat mockups of imaginary conversations, and more listings now expect enough code to build those prototypes yourself. Openings are fewer than on the engineering side, but the field is far less crowded. Remote is common; published salary ranges, less so.
