'Anywhere' is a strong claim. Some companies mean it.

Remote AI jobs in Anywhere in the World

A genuine work-from-anywhere posting tells you two things: the company has payroll infrastructure across borders — its own entities or an employer-of-record — and it runs async enough that your time zone is your business. It also tells you the competition is global, because everyone on Earth can apply to the same role.

Read closely anyway: worldwide sometimes arrives with an asterisk like within-four-hours-of-CET, or means contractor status rather than employment. Compensation may be one global band or quietly location-adjusted, and postings rarely volunteer which. Companies that truly mean anywhere tend to say so at length — vagueness is its own answer.
