Prompt Design jobs

The standalone prompt engineer title has thinned out, but the work deepened: system prompts for products with millions of users, prompt architecture that survives model version swaps, and injection-resistant scaffolding around anything touching user input. What remains is closer to technical writing fused with experimental method than to incantation-hunting.

The people who thrive treat prompts as versioned, tested artifacts — run against eval sets, reviewed like code, rolled back like deployments. Domain-heavy products in law, medicine, and education hire for this hardest, since the prompt encodes the expertise. It's also one of the few AI roles where exceptional writing is the core technical skill.
